I had checked out cafes for breakfast and one stand out was Duck Duck Bruce which was conveniently just around the corner from the hotel. Great breakfast! What a good start to the day.
There was no great rush to get to the ship. Because of the outbreak of COVID-19 there were extra precautions being undertaken by Royal Caribbean to sanitise the ship. The terminal was also well sanitised after the previous ship had departed the day before.
Linda & Don had been picked up at the airport by a shuttle company and the woman who was in charge came into the hotel while we were cooling our heels, not wanting to get to the terminal too early, as there had been an early rush to get there. She said she had already been to the terminal a few times and at present it was not busy. So off we went.
It was a very easy process boarding and soon we were sitting waiting in a lounge for the announcement cabins were available. We arranged to meet with Linda and Don for sail away drinks at the Sky Bar later.
Watching an approaching storm, we decided it was better to head for the Star Quest lounge on Deck 13, where there is a great view, a bar and it’s inside. The storm hit very suddenly and the crowds scattered! It was quite amusing.
